I've lived on the Central Coast for 20 years - the majority of my life - and I'm so thankful to have had the privilege of continuing my career in the city of SLO following my departure from CalPoly.

I graduated from CalPoly with an ICS degree in Political Science with concentrations in Government Policy and Public Administration. While at CalPoly, I was on the College of Liberal Arts Student Advisory Council to the Dean and the Student Campus Computing Committee, representing the Liberal Arts Department. I am currently on the board for the LA-based Homeless-R-Us nonprofit as a Director for Public Policy focusing on local Housing Solutions for Lancaster’s un-housed population.

Now, I work with the SLO County Behavioral Health Department as a Project Manager and Coordinator, overseeing a CalPoly research grant that addresses a multitude of client needs from Behavioral Health Treatment Court (BHTC), Mental Health Diversion Court (MHDC), Forensic Full-Service Partnership (FFSP), and Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) programs and services.

My partner, David, currently works in the food services industry as a supervisor, and was previously employed with the Sierra Northern Railroad company in Fillmore, CA, as a Railroad Operations Technician. He continues to be actively involved with the SLO Railroad Society.

Outside of employment, I am an advocate for Affordable Housing, Education, and Healthcare. I’m also a supporter of walkable cities, alternative green energy sources, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

My vision of San Luis Obispo is one that cultivates community, progress, and health. A city where we don’t just keep up with change, but actively create it. My vision for SLO is one that has variance and vibrancy in everything it does, from sustainable and robust public transportation to public spaces teaming with art and installations. A place where the voice of the people isn’t ignored, like so many locals feel right now. I want a SLO that’s affordable to everyone. Where college students don’t have to worry about being homeless and where seniors don’t have to worry about whether they will outlive their retirement.

There is so much progress we have made as a city, but there’s still so much left to be done! I think a new voice - an outside voice - can be an effective one in these times.

A list of my priorities can be found here:

This list is accessible on any platform and has five policies geared towards each vision.
